The Tidal Kayak pavilion is a celebration of natural systems; the structure is positioned by the rise and fall of the ocean’s tides. The form of the structure is expressive of the inherent tensile strength of structural bamboo – one large cantilever that is allowed to bend and sway with the elements. Concrete, rebar, and a simple wire-wrap system are used as connectors.
