Category 08: Urban Buildings Marc Jamin: France Designed as an extension for a typical house on the coast of Britanny, France, the main structure is based on a series of bamboo porticos connected with steel. A concrete chimney stabilizes the bamboo porticos from the ocean’s wind and a polycarbonate ceiling protects from the elements as the bamboo poles allow an ever-changing play of light to create a dynamic space.
