1506 (10") Bamboo Sheets. Category 07: Temporary, Portable, Emergency Relief
Katsuhiro Miyamoto: Japan
With a prototype created in Japan, this very simple, very easy to assemble shelter requires only the split bamboo pieces, bedsheets, plastic bags, and clothespins, and other materials that are readily available, even in a disaster situation. A community space is created inside as the modular pieces are put together, and a whole family or village can sleep fairly comfortably, temporarily protected from the elements.
