Utilizing a combination of Andean and Asian strawbale techniques, this house is built using on-site and local materials, such as Guada angustifolia and Bambusa stenostachya bamboo, mud, and straw. Housing like this supports the local environment and the local economy. The designers remind us that if everyone on the planet wanted to live in an average U.S. home, three more Earths would be required to provide the resources.
