1286 (10") Sliding House. Category 04: Hybrid Houses and Buildings
Claudia Bisceglia & Vincenzo Zito & Marco Crivellari: Italy
Conceptually, this house reflects heat adaptation of a human body, “crouching” together in the winter and “stretching” (sliding) outwards for heat dispersion in the summer. Three overlapping platforms slide together and apart to create this movement, and other platforms can be added for growth. The structural systems and space defining panels are made of bamboo poles and steel is used for the sliding rails and connectors.
