Competition Submissions
|
General Design Considerations
• Design criteria: aesthetics, functionality and structural integrity.
• Design using structural bamboo poles.
• Design represents affordable, relevant, liveable, stylish housing.
• Design can be effectively converted into CAD shop drawings for construction.

Submission Schedule
• Registration Deadline is December 31, 2006. All contestants must register.
• Submission Deadline is January 15, 2007, extended to January 31, 2007 for corrections.
• Email confirmation of all submissions after checking upload files.

Entry Fee Schedule
• $100 for companies, architects, professions, designers, builders.
• $50 for students.
• $25 for students from developing world countries.

Submission Requirements for PDF Files (see sample competition entry)
• Format size is 24"x36" pdf (ARCHD) horizontal format preferred. Submit 1 or 2 pdf files.
• 300 dpi resolution is preferred - best quality for publishing illustrations.
• Put your Registration Number on each pdf file, lower left corner of each page.
• Indicate building category for your competition entry.
• Include description summary, plans, sections, elevations, 3-D views.
• Options: exploded axonometric views, materials, research, parti.

Submission Requirements for Description (word doc)
• Add 250 word description and philosophy inspiring the project (separate from PDF) .
• Add complete contact information including email for communication on this word doc.

Conditions. Competitors agree to the following rules and regulations:
• Bamboo Competition is granted the rights to reproduce and print design entries.
• Designs and text description may be edited and included in new bamboo book.
• Designers name credit will be given on any reproduced or published work.
• Bamboo Competition has no responsibility to return submitted materials.
• By submission of design entries, competitors agree to these conditions

Upload Submissions to our Competition ftp site
• Entries are pdf files submitted using the Login•Submit page.
• To login enter your email address and 8 digit Pass Code sent to you by email.
• After we receive your registration fee, you can upload pdf files to our ftp site.
• Your competition design will be uploaded to a unique folder with your Pass Code.
• You receive confirmation on the upload page that your upload was successful.
• You can upload up to 25 MB single files. A big file upload will take some time.
